Redmi TV: the new 70-inch Xiaomi TV

Xiaomi has officially announced the launch of its first TV under the Redmi brand with a size of 70 inches and 4K HDR resolution.

Xiaomi has already announced its two new terminals of the independent brand Redmi, the Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro, in addition to the renewed RedmiBook 14. However, these were not the only devices officially presented during the event held yesterday.

It seems that the Chinese company has joined the trend of smart TV with the presentation of the first TV Redmi brand. What are their characteristics? What’s new?

4K resolution and HDR compatibility
First, the Redmi TV has a size of 70 inches and arrives with 4K resolution, something that would be expected considering the televisions launched by the rest of the companies. The device is compatible with the HDR image processor and integrates an Amlogic processor with four 64-bit Cortex-A53 cores and a 750 MHz Mali-450 MP3 GPU.

The operating system of the new Xiaomi TV is PatchWall, as in Android TV, and is compatible with the company’s voice assistant although the user can also use his own voice to control the TV. Finally, the sound is Dolby Audio and DTS-HD.

When will it be available? The Redmi TV has already gone on sale in China and its price is 3,800 yuan, approximately 480 euros. The official launch date in Europe is still unknown but if we remember the company’s strategy we will not have to wait long.
